Background :
Samarth-NMDP is a five-year DFID-funded rural market development programme that aims to reduce poverty in Nepal by increasing incomes of 300,000 smallholder farmers and small-scale entrepreneurs. The programme works to improving the underlying pro-poor performance of rural sectors, leading to opportunities for better access and improved growth for poor and disadvantaged people. Samarth-NMDP focuses on a range of agricultural sub-sectors (e.g. ginger, dairy, fish, vegetables, and pigs); cross-sector issues such as mechanisation and media; and Tourism. Samarth-NMDP is looking for qualified individuals to support the monitoring and results measurement of the programme interventions.
Qualifications :
Essential :
- Minimum Bachelor's Degree in rural development, social sciences, statistics or relevant field
- At least 2 years experience in monitoring and evaluation of development programe.
- Proven experience in research and data collection, including survey design and using a mix of qualitative and quantitative techniques.
- Proven ability to work effectively in close-knit teams and to interact effectively with a diverse range of stakeholder groups.
- Familiarity with the use of results chains, the DCED Standard for Results Measurement and market development principles particularly the M4P approach will be an advantage.
Desirable :
- Experience in using statistical analysis software such as SPSS
